Cleaning Glass

To ensure our glass containers and all other glass products remain pleasing to the eye for a long time, they should be washed with water and an appropriate cleaning agent. One such agent is ordinary dishwashing liquid. This popular detergent, found in every kitchen, is perfect for cleaning glass. Since it is intended for contact with food, we can use it to wash not only decorative glass but also glasses, plates, or bowls. It helps not only to keep the glass clean but also answers the question of how to remove greasy stains. Added in a small concentration to water, it will help us tackle any greasy stain.

How to Remove Greasy Stains

If you are wondering how to remove greasy stains from your favorite vase or jug, below we present two home methods. Besides the aforementioned dishwashing liquid, washing glass dishes in water with vinegar also yields excellent results. This will not only remove greasy stains and streaks from your glass but also give it a beautiful shine. The appropriate vinegar concentration is 1:9 or 1:8 (one part vinegar to 9 or 8 parts water). It's a cheap and natural method. After washing the glass, simply open a window for a few minutes, and the unpleasant vinegar smell will dissipate.

Another answer to the question "how to remove greasy stains" is alcohol. Simply soak a cloth in it and wipe the glass before use. This will allow us to remove not only grease but also many other types of dirt from all kinds of glass containers, mirrors, or windows. Speaking of high-proof agents, it's worth mentioning that wiping a window with water and a small amount of denatured alcohol in winter prevents the window from freezing and frost from forming on it.

How to remove greasy stains from frosted glass? Frosted glass, contrary to appearances, can be a bit more problematic than smooth glass. If none of the methods mentioned above help, it's worth applying fabric softener to it. After a few minutes, simply wipe it off and wash the glass with water.

How to Polish Glass

Cleaning glass is not only about washing or soaking. To ensure our glass containers and decorations look their best, we must also know how to polish glass to make it shine beautifully. We can use high-quality cotton, paper towels, a soft cloth, or materials like tetra or nylon for this. Speaking of nylon, of course, stockings 🙂 – an old, tried-and-true method from our mothers and grandmothers. It has a structure that makes it very easy to remove streaks from the glass surface. We can also use a tetra diaper – if it doesn't find a more urgent use. 😉

By Hand or in the Dishwasher

Our glass products are made from the highest quality glass, resistant to dulling, so washing in the dishwasher is not a problem for them. But sometimes it's worth taking extra care of your beautiful glass items by washing them by hand and then polishing them. They will repay us by sparkling beautifully in the sunlight.

I think that after reading this post, you can now confidently answer the question of how to clean and polish glass and why I dedicate so much space to the topic of cleaning glass: to keep it beautiful, to enjoy it for as long as possible, and to make our lives brighter. 🙂
